Wexford
is a most unique community situated on the Island's south
end. This Plantation encompasses 500 acres of land, marshes
& waterways allowing residents to enjoy a sophisticated,
immaculately manicured, upscale residential community with
British Colonial architectural flair and world-class amenities.
When the Marathon Oil Company constructed Wexford Plantation
in 1982, it intended to create the most exquisite residential
community on the East Coast. It used the governor's Mansion
in Williamsburg, Virginia and the Cloisters resort in Sea
Island, Georgia for reference. In addition to its championship
golf course, a brand-new Tennis Center and elaborate $ 5
million clubhouse, Wexford's 37 ½ acre harbour is
its most unique feature. Its innovative lock system - one
of only four on the East Coast - controls the tidal fluctuations
to a constant depth of 8' providing 24 hour security &
access to Broad Creek and the Intracoastal Waterway. Ribbons
of deep canals thread throughout the community affording
owners the ultimate pleasure of docking boats in their own
back yard. Membership to the Club and all amenities is exclusive
to property owners only and is included when you purchase
property in this beautiful, one-of-a-kind Plantation.
